1. Introduction

Introductress ("we," "us," "our") operates a platform that connects "Cupids" (women who facilitate introductions), the friends they refer, and male clients seeking arranged dates, collectively, "users," "you." This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using Introductress, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Verify your identity and eligibility to use the platform (18+, real person, not previously banned)
  • Facilitate matches between Cupids, their friends, and male clients
  • Process payments and payouts
  • Communicate with you about your account, matches, and dates
  • Investigate reports of misconduct and enforce our Zero-Tolerance Policy
  • Improve and maintain the platform
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations

We do not use your information to sell targeted advertising to third parties, and we do not sell your personal information as defined under applicable privacy law.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as necessary to operate the platform:

Between users, on a limited basis:

  • When a Cupid identifies a match, we share the male client's verified profile with her.
  • Once a friend agrees to a date, we coordinate logistics with both her and the client, but we do not share her direct contact information with the client, or his with her, unless both parties separately choose to exchange it themselves, in person.

With service providers:

  • Identity verification providers
  • Payment processors
  • Cloud hosting and data storage providers
  • Customer support tools

For legal or safety reasons:

  • If required by law, subpoena, or legal process
  • To investigate or respond to a safety report
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Introductress, our users, or the public

We do not share your information with third-party advertisers for marketing purposes.

Business transfers: If Introductress is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you if this happens and if it materially changes how your data is handled.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes or investigate safety reports
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and Safety Policy

Specific retention periods:

  • ID verification documents: retained for 2 years after account closure, primarily to enforce platform bans and prevent banned users from re-registering
  • Payment records: retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations
  • Safety reports: retained indefinitely in de-identified or restricted-access form, to maintain the integrity of our ban list

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements (e.g., we may retain limited data to enforce a safety ban even after account deletion)
  • Port your data to another service
  • Opt out of certain data uses, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent at any time for data uses based on consent

For users in the EU/UK (GDPR): You have additional rights, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact Page.

7. How We Protect Your Information

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive information (such as ID documents and passwords) both in transit and at rest, restricted internal access to verification data, and regular security reviews.

No system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. But protecting your information, especially your ID and verification data, is treated as a priority, not an afterthought.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember your preferences
  • Understand how the platform is used, so we can improve it

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.

9. Children's Privacy

Introductress is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed across several countries due to cloud data processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the platform before the changes take effect. Continued use of Introductress after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us through the Contact Page.

13. Special Note on Sensitive Data

Because Introductress facilitates dating and matchmaking, some of the information we process, including your interest in being matched with someone, or information that could reveal your dating or relationship preferences, may be considered sensitive personal data under certain privacy laws (including as a "special category" under GDPR). We handle this information with additional care, and only use it for the purpose of facilitating matches and platform safety.
